Went today to get the owner of the house to sign the rental contract. Things aren't as simple here as in the States. Rather than just going and renting a place you have to take a contract to the owner, have them sign in, then return the contract to the housing office, have them approve it, then return it to the owner, set up direct deposit into their account for the rent, get a special VAT form for the taxes on the utilities, take a breath, then eventually get to move in. I am now in the going to housing office tomorrow to take the form for their approval...fun times.
How nice though, the owner is busy painting inside and making everything nice and pretty. He is so nice that he gave me one of the keys early so that I could have some things delivered before the move in date...and even though I said I was willing to pay early to get to do this he said no, it was no problem...I could have whatever I wanted delivered and then move in on the 1st as planned. He also told me that if I wanted to plant flowers to give him the receipt so he could pay me back. I told him if I was going to plant flowers there was no need for that since I would be doing it for my enjoyment, but he seems to want to be so helpful.
Needless to say when I was at the house today I didnt get pictures inside since Georg was busy prepping to paint. I did however get some pictures outside. So here you go:
